Focus of the Role

At the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI), we work at the highest levels of government to help leaders go further and faster to make their citizens’ lives better. Moving the dial on the great global challenges of our time requires engaged, incentivised, focused and motivated leaders.  When political leadership is relentlessly deployed, at the highest levels, incredible things can be achieved.

Using our distinctive expertise and global outlook and guided by the unique insights and perspective of our Executive Chairman Sir Tony Blair, our dedicated experts and embedded teams advise governments all over the world in strategy, policy and delivery, underpinned by technology.

Our new Global Client Solutions team is at the heart of how we define “what we do” and then distribute the best of the Institute and our networks to global leaders through our country advisory teams.  As a centre of excellence, Global Client Solutions is comprised of our centrally-situated global and regional experts – functional and sectoral.  Our experts provide valuable counsel, technical support, thought partnership, strategy, and surge capacity and lead the development and evolution of our solutions, methods, and offers in the service of our partner governments.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Client Solutions and working with other directors and pillar leaders in the Global Client solutions team and wider health community of practice, you will ensure we effectively and continuously develop, define, and evolve the practical solutions, tools, and means to support senior political leaders on the topics which matter most.  You will need to work closely with our country and regional advisory leaders and Policy & Politics team to coordinate our areas of expertise and ensure they are both visionary, and client-driven.  You will cultivate an internal community of practice to bring together those working on these topics regardless of location and reporting lines. TBI is a political advisory organisation working at the highest levels and centre of government, to ensure our work remains situated at the highest political levels and our health efforts are linked in with the wider health systems you will also need to support the team to drive critical partnerships with other organisations already working in the health system such as INGOs and other foundations.

TBI’s Global Health Security Consortium and One Shot programme is a landmark effort in our health work; this work is led by our Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives team, but you and the wider community of practice will provide valuable technical input and expertise into the efforts of the global initiatives as well as draw from its work to support our work with senior political leaders at a national and on occasion supra-national level.
