Focus of the Role

Kenya has had a change in administration to the government of HE William Ruto, who was officially sworn in as Kenya's 5th President on 13th September. The President has highlighted several ambitious actions focusing on empowering the masses at the base of the economic pyramid, which has resonated with Kenyans who are confronted daily with increasingly unaffordable prices in food and transport. The policy framework for the first 6 months reflects this pro-poor development and service delivery nexus, underscored by a technology dimension. TBI’s strategy for its partnership with the Government of Kenya takes these as the starting point.

Since 2015, TBI has been supporting Kenya and establishing trusted relationships with the government. As the country enters a new phase, TBI will support the new government to deliver on the promises for an improved economy, job creation opportunities for the youth and lowered cost of living including through agriculture, health, job creation and digitisation.
