Focus of the Role

The Initiative for the Middle East (IME) by the Tony Blair Institute is seeking to contract a local consultant (Consultant) to gather, record, analyse and report relevant data (Data) to IME on a monthly basis.

Key Responsibilities

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­The Consultant will:

  • Be responsible for gathering, entering, processing, analysing, reporting and displaying geodata, sociological, economic and survey data, relating to Israel and the Palestinian territory.
  • Conduct research on the above topics, and other related as requested by IME.
  • IME may request to introduce changes and modify the required tasks in line with the needs of the organisation.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with a strong data science background, able to gather, analyse and process complex data. The individual should possess high levels of enthusiasm, drive and resilience, and be able to collaboratively in a tight-knit team. The individual should be available to work locally from Israel/the Palestinian territory, with flexibility on hours and work from home.

This is a role in a fast-paced team, working within complex policy areas that are highly scrutinised. Therefore, the successful candidate for the role should be able to display the majority of the following:

  • Data science expertise (gathering, processing, analysing data, data visualisation).
  • Proven work experience in data science field.
  • Experience with data management tools such as Power Query & Excel, SQL, MongoDB, Power BI and DAX.
  • Experience with data visualisation e.g. Tableau.
  • Experience with programming languages e.g. R, Python, STATA.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of Hebrew and Arabic is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with an emphasis on high performance, results and quick turnaround.
  • An ability to deliver results in a highly political, complex and challenging environment.

Consultancy days: Minimum three days per week.

Compensation: Competitive, dependent on experience.
